Brand Guide- Mt. Shasta Ski Park
When I started in my role as graphic design and social media manager at Ski Park, I quicked noticed the lack of consistency in branding for years before my arrival due to the lack of a brand guide- I was unable to create any consistency from prior designs. I needed to create a brand guide to be released alongside the resort’s 5-year plan to upgrade and expand in order to create visual reliability and rebuild a trusting relationship with the customer base.
I started by creating reliable questionnaires to collect information about Mt. Shasta Ski Park’s demographic. This research expanded to include both the summer and winter months. I also ran comparisons with other ski resorts. It took several years to piece together all the information about our demographic and create a yearly project list so I understood all aspects that needed to be included in the brand guide.
In the brand guide, I balanced the desire to save the history of the park while also moving forward to the future. Made contemporary changes to branding and facilitated consistency. I documented as much as possible to allow myself to create branding consistency, but also for anyone else in the company who may use branding. I created templates and placed all updated content on the server.
